Defence Sector

Due to the high level of the sophistication in modern warfare there is a demand for high performance products to give protection against chemical and nerve agents. Cannon Tri-laminates Ltd manufacture these materials required by the Defence Forces Worldwide and provide an extensive range of services for the Defence Sector. The products include;

• NBC grade butyl (IIR) polymer coated nylon for the manufacture of “Quick don” hoods, field ponchos for the protection of troops, as well as a similar material supplied to the USA which is fabricated into air-force pilot masks (Cannon Tri-laminates Ltd are the only approved supplier Worldwide), which contain Infrared (IR) reflective pigments, plus are mustard gas and nerve gas resistant.
• PVC/nitrile (NBR) heavy weight proofed materials used in the manufacture of UK MOD fuel tanks, covers for military tanks, decontamination systems, tents and personal protection equipment (PPE).
• Chlorosulphonated polyethylene (hypalon, CSPE) coated dyed high tenacity polyamide material giving water protection and infra-red characteristics when used as an outer layer for militray aircraft covers and ballistic vests. The range is complemented with polychloroprene (neoprene, CR) coated textiles for the manufacture of portable structures e.g. tents for personal protection.
• Fluoroelastomer (viton, FKM) coated glasscloths, double side and single side coated materials manufactured into products used in Airbus aircrafts; such as window seals, fuel pump insulation covers and commercial gaskets. Also manufactured is a double side viton coated high tenacity nylon, which is fabricated into protective chemical resistant cowls incorporated in breathing apparatus for U.S Navy personnel.

These products are manufactured to comply with the critical government (NBC) specifications throughout the world in colours which include olive drab, sand, NATO green, and a wide range of camouflage prints.
